  • Claude Opus 5.5

    Flagship

    Released Sep 22, 2026

The model Anthropic tells most developers to start with: built for long autonomous coding sessions and document-heavy professional work. It lands close to — and on many benchmarks above — the pricier Fable 5.1 at 40% of the per-token price.

  • Claude Sonnet 5.5

    Mid-tier

    Released Sep 28, 2026

The faster, cheaper companion to Opus 5.5 for well-scoped everyday coding, bug fixing and producing documents, slides and spreadsheets. At maximum effort it approaches Opus on several benchmarks; Anthropic says Opus stays ahead on open-ended work that needs sustained judgement.

  • Claude Fable 5.1

    Flagship

    Released Sep 1, 2026

Anthropic's top publicly available tier, sitting above Opus and aimed at the hardest reasoning problems and agent runs that last for hours. Anthropic itself suggests starting on Opus 5.5 and moving up only when that falls short — and the newer Opus now outscores it on most benchmarks.

  • Claude Haiku 5.5

    Small & fast

    Released Oct 7, 2026

Small, fast model for high-volume and latency-sensitive jobs such as classification, extraction, routing, summarising and sub-agent work. It is the first Haiku with adjustable reasoning effort and a 1M-token context.
